tim silverwood and bag it! film event
Plastic Bag Free Torquay, in conjunction with Take 3 Beach Clean Up initiative and Surf Coast Shire Council, will present a film night and talk by Tim Silverwood, surfer and environmentalist from the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Tim has just returned from a voyage to the North Pacific Gyre, (aka the Great Pacific Garbage Patch) aboard the Sea Dragon. The Sea Dragon’s mission was to research marine debris in the largest of the 5 global gyres and can be read about on Tim’s site here.
Tim also has rights to the award-winning film, Bag It!, and will be showing the film to local schools in the week leading up to our main screening at St Therese Primary School auditorium on Saturday 17th September, starting at 6pm. There’ll be stalls of products that help reduce plastic waste, food, refreshments and music. Come down, say hi, meet Tim, see the film, be surprised and inspired. Tickets are $8 at the door, or can be pre-purchased from our friends at Patagonia.
